be raised without violence. They do not need any additional guard
training. Their innate features make Fila guard and protector.

by the owner's legs wins everyone’s sympathy.

Fila
is a big dog with firm body building.
Its body can be like great Dane i.e. rather slim, or like Mastiff i.e. rather stocky. Fila reaches about 65-70 cm at withers height. Females are 5-10 cm shorter. What is characteristic for this breed is that the rump is located above the sacrum line - it is professionally called rump overbuilding. Fila brasileiro has strong skeletal system, wide chest and ruff, as well as long paws. It was big head with triangle, droopy ears. At a first glance it seems to have sad eyes. Such impression is caused by baggy skin folds which cover the dogs body. What’s more, another characteristic of Fila is its amble – also called as cat's or camel’s walk. Although the dog looks slouchy, it is very agile. Its is very reversible. Fila's colour may differ from the sandy to tabby brown. It is incorrect when the dog’s colour is marble, piebald, or then the white covers more than 25% of the dog’s body, as well as when it’s white, grey, or burned black. Fila’s caring is very simple. It is recommended to regularly brush its fur. It is also important to take special care of the ears, as their size and shape are conductive to inflammatory condition. Dog’s eyes should be closely nursed as well. Droopy eyelids can cause conjunctivitis.
